Mag ik parttime werken als groepsleerkracht?
Ja, dat is in het basisonderwijs heel gebruikelijk. Veel klassen hebben twee leerkrachten (duo-baan), die de week verdelen (bijvoorbeeld 3 om 2 dagen). Fulltime banen zijn er ook, maar schaarser.
Mag ik gymles geven aan mijn eigen klas?
Alleen aan de kleuters (groep 1/2) mag elke Pabo-gediplomeerde gymles geven. Voor groep 3 t/m 8 heb je een aparte bevoegdheid nodig (leergang vakbekwaamheid bewegingsonderwijs) of de school zet een vakleerkracht in.
In welke salarisschaal kom ik terecht?
De standaardfunctie is vaak schaal LB. Heb je extra taken, een specialisatie (zoals reken- of taalcoördinator) of werk je in het speciaal onderwijs, dan kom je vaak in schaal LC. De kloof met het voortgezet onderwijs is inmiddels gedicht.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Teacher to join our Primary School team. In this rewarding role, you will play a vital part in our school community, stepping in to inspire and support pupils when a class teacher is absent (planned and unplanned). Your contribution will help ensure learning continues, maintaining a positive, engaging, and nurturing environment for our children across all language sections and areas of school.
Your responsibilities
· Covering for teachers during their absence (e.g., due to illness or leave)
· Delivering lessons according to existing lesson plans and guideline
· Supporting students in various groups and classes
· Contributing to a positive and productive classroom environment
Requirements
· Fully qualified teacher status to teach in Primary Education, in the country the qualification is obtained ideally with DUO recognition
· If you completed your studies in the UK/Ireland: you have been awarded QTS/SFR or equivalent and have successfully completed -or are exempt from- the statutory induction period
· Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: English, Dutch, German or French would be considered an advantage.
Recommendations
· Experience working with EAL pupils
· Experience in international or intercultural education
· Living in the Netherlands with work permit
