The University of Aruba is a young and dynamic university founded in 1988. Since its establishment, the University has grown into an institution comprising four faculties: the Faculty of Law, the School of Finance and Economics, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management Studies, and the Faculty of Arts & Science (FAS).
For the Faculty of Arts & Science, we are seeking an:
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (0,6 fte)
The Position
As an Administrative Officer, you will support the Sustainable Island Solutions through Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (SISSTEM) program within the Faculty of Arts & Science (FAS). You will provide administrative, organizational, and logistical support to the Program Manager(s) and the Dean, contributing to the further development and implementation of the SISSTEM program.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Dean and Program Manager(s) in the preparation and implementation of policy documents and quality assurance activities within the SISSTEM program;
- Provide administrative and process-related support to the Dean and Program Manager(s);
- Prepare, organize, and coordinate meetings and events with internal and external stakeholders;
- Maintain communication with students, lecturers, and external partners affiliated with the SISSTEM program;
- Request and collect required documentation from lecturers and departments;
- Take minutes during meetings;
- Establish and maintain the program's filing and archiving system;
- Prepare class schedules and examination/re-examination timetables in consultation with the Faculty and the Office of Educational Affairs (OEA), serving as the primary contact person for scheduling and invigilator coordination;
- Manage the Faculty's and program's general Stone page;
- Maintain the program's website and social media channels;
- Perform other administrative and organizational tasks in support of the program.
The ideal candidate
- Bachelor's degree (HBO level or equivalent) in Office Management, Administration, or a related field;
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in a similar position;
- Strong communication skills in both English and Dutch; knowledge of Papiamento is considered an asset;
- Proficiency in ICT applications, including Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Canva;
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team;
- Proactive, flexible, self-directed, analytical, and well-organized;
- Strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities;
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.

This position is a part-time appointment of 24 hours per week, with a salary in accordance with the University of Aruba's remuneration regulations. In addition, the University offers an attractive package of secondary employment benefits, including 22 vacation days and 13 ATV (reduction of working hours) days per year based on a full-time appointment, a vacation allowance, participation in the collective pension plan (APFA), and opportunities for personal and professional development.

In 1993, the Faculty for Accounting, Finance, and Marketing (FEF) started which is now the largest faculty of the UA, followed by the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management Studies (FHTMS) in 2005. The UA’s most recent addition is the Faculty of Arts and Science (FAS) which began in 2009. In the coming years, the UA hopes to continue its expansion by offering cutting-edge degree programs to both local and international students.
