The International School of The Hague (ISH)
The International School of The Hague (ISH) is a highly successful, popular, semi-public school for primary and secondary international education. The modern school campus is located in a state-of-the-art building in an area of natural beauty in the city of The Hague in The Netherlands. The primary school is an accredited IPC school. The secondary school is an IB World School accredited by the CIS.
The entire school currently has 1500 students and hosts over 85 nationalities with teachers from around the world. The school is divided into Primary and Secondary with a Principal for each section. The Principals, supported by the Business manager, comprise the Senior Leadership of the School.
The Primary school was established in 2003 and became the first school in the world to be accredited at “mastering” level by the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). In March 2013 it became the first school in the world to be re-accredited at “mastering” level with a strong focus on learning throughout the school community. We now have more than 550 pupils on roll.

The entire school currently has more than 2000 students from around 100 nationalities with teachers from around the world. The school is divided into Primary and Secondary with a Principal for each section.
The Primary School was established in 2003 and became the first school in the world to be accredited at “Mastering” level by the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). The Primary School was also the first international school in The Netherlands to receive
the Excellente School status from the Dutch Inspection of Education. We now have more than 640 pupils on roll in Primary.
We currently have a vacancy for:
Learning Support Coordinator - (Primary education teacher L11)
Full time: 1.0000 fte (40 hours, Monday-Friday)
Start date: 1-8-2019
The successful candidate will lead our team of the Learning Support (LS) Department, which consists of learning support teachers and a school psychologist. In addition, a group of personal assistants, who work with individual students and are contracted by
an outside agency, need to be monitored by the LS coordinator. The LS department supports the learning of children who require specific interventions in different areas (curricular and behaviour). The candidate also needs to liaise closely with our EAL department.
Relevant experience and qualifications in the teaching of Learning Support students is essential. The support either takes place within the classroom or in small withdrawal groups. The candidate will also manage communication with numerous external organizations
in the Netherlands, for financial support or organisation of personal assistants, psychological and educational assessments, advice on safeguarding, etcetera. Therefore, a thorough understanding of the Dutch educational laws on inclusive education and the
ability to function in Dutch as well as in English is highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with previous leadership experience.
Candidates should have a valid Primary teaching qualification as well as a specialism in Special Needs (Interne Begeleider) and should be eligible to work and have a residence in the European Union. If you are internationally-minded, permitted to work in the

The position is based on the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) for Primary Education. Scaling depends on the relevant background and experience. This position is scaled in the L11 scale. The maximum L11 scale is 15 and this is gross 4,228 EUR maximum
per month based on a full time FTE.
The contract offered to the successful applicant will be initially for one year. After one year, a permanent contract will become permanent after obtaining the qualifications recognition from the Dutch authorities (DUO) and if there are no limitations in performance.
