Curriculum Manager Required for the Diploma Programme Development Department Location: The Hague Salary: 46,000 to 57,000 Euros per year, dependent upon experience Group Four (Experimental Sciences) Biology with a Second Subject (Preference for Psychology) The role will be in the Diploma Programme (16-19 age range) curriculum department as a curriculum manager in groups 4 (experimental sciences) to support the development and management of the biology curriculum. A post has arisen due to the expansion of the department. The sciences curriculum review is in progress, so the post will be an exciting opportunity to manage and develop a new sciences curriculum for the IB diploma programme. The post holder will also be responsible for other courses dependant on expertise and experience. An ability to support for example Psychology or Sports Exercise and Health Science (or any other DP subjects) will be an advantage and will complement the current team. The Diploma Programme (16-19 age range) is designed as an academically challenging and balanced programme of education with final examinations that prepares students for success at university and life beyond. The programme is normally taught over two years. IB Diploma Programme students study six courses at higher level or stand level chosen from each of groups 1 to 5 provide breadth of experience in languages, social studies, the experimental sciences and mathematics. The sixth subject may be an arts subject chosen from group 6, or the student may choose another subject from groups 1 to 5. Curriculum Managers are responsible for leading and managing curriculum research, review and development for a number of subjects, producing the subject guides, teacher support material and professional development materials for educators. Within the DP curriculum department, the post holder will work closely with a team of curriculum managers, led by the curriculum area head. The successful candidate will also liaise regularly with staff in other IB departments, including assessment, publications and professional development. The responsibilities also include working with external stakeholders such as teams of teachers, examiners, and consultants. Main requirements
